Nice Dell monitor
Review of Dell E173FP by greekmiss

Advantages: crips clear picture
Disadvantages: I think it takes up a lot of energy

I have been using this monitor at work for over a year now and the picture quality is crisp and bright. When you're using a monitor you definitely want these two qualities. It is easy to view pictures at true colors, you can read both large and fine print without strain to your eyes and you can have multiple pages open on your monitor without any issues. There are 4 buttons in the front of the monitor, one is the power and the other 3 are setting ...
...came with a power cable and a serial cable (monitor cable with blue ends). The monitor has it's own stand and takes up about 4-5 inches in depth! Much improvement from the huge clunky monitors of old! It's 17 inches in diameter which these days is OK. People who work on spreadsheets, databases and design software such as Photoshop would benefit from a 19 or 21 inch monitor which was widescreen - of course that is completey my opinion! :) The monitor ... Sync Your Teeth Into This Master Monitor
Review of Samsung SyncMaster 710 TM by anonymili

Advantages: Excellent response time and clear screen
Disadvantages: Somewhat costly at the $600+ region

I used the Samsung SyncMaster 710TM at work now for over a year in an office where we had 7 or 8 of the same model used by staff and clients alike. I always found them to be reliable and with clear resolutions. No complaints whatsoever on any of them so far! The M of TM in the product name stands for multimedia - this monitor has a built in speaker, although the sound quality is nothing to write home about - it's rather tinny, so don't rely just ...
...mark. All in all the Samsung SyncMaster 710TM gets big thumbs up for usability and slight thumbs down for cost. TECHNICAL STUFF (best to ignore this if you're not interested in the dimensions, etc) * The Samsung SyncMaster 710TM is a 17" TFT active matrix monitor. * The brightness is up to 300 cd/mē, dot pitch is 0.26mm and contrast ration is 600:1. * It supports 24-bit (16.7M) colours and is PC or MAC compatible. * The maximum viewing ... The F-417 - Sounds Exciting But It Really Isn't!
Review of Neovo F 417 by anonymili

Advantages: cheap and cheerful?
Disadvantages: low stand height, no built in speakers, not for gamers

I've been using the AG Neovo F-417 for almost 2 years now and have found it to be a fairly average monitor. I use it on a daily basis at work spending a good 7-8 hours in front of it so it's worth mentioning that it doesn't seem to give me headaches or sore eyes from looking at it for great lengths of time. As an entry level TFT LCD (which means "thin-film transistor liquid crystal display") monitor, the F-417 does actually have a sleek design and ...
...and is manufactured by AG Neovo Technology Corp. Buy.com are currently listing it for $189.99, PC Rush for $200.85 and Ink Oasis lists it for $194.60. TECHNICAL SPECS (or skip to the end if you don't want to know the boring stuff) The AG Neovo F-417 is a 17 inch flat screen (TFT LCD) monitor. It comes with a 3 year on site warranty if you purchase it directly from AG-Neovo. Its gross weight is about 7 kilos and the typical brightness is ... Read review

Don't bother.
Review of Lenovo ThinkVision L171p by st0rmy

Advantages: Cheap.
Disadvantages: A lot to mention.

The Lenovo ThinkVision L171p isn't the greatest monitor I've seen. It's not horrible, but it's not that great, either. Text often appears blurry, and color distinction is just simply.. Not as good as it could be. I've seen much better. Editting pictures using this monitor is quite tricky, even with an advanced user as myself, as the graphics are dull, and almost smudgy. For your everyday basic use, like surfing the web and such things, it'd be alright, ...
...much of this monitor. Also, I found that this LCD flatscreen monitor is awful susceptible (sp?) of interference from other electronic devices, (like speakers and radios.) This monitor is cheaply priced, but the money you save doesn't outweigh the performance level. Basically, I'm saying, Don't waste your time. Opt for something a bit better. ... Read review

Now, that's really FLATron, LG!
Review of LG L1953S by ChocolateLady

Advantages: Great for games, movies, very clear, great color, reasonably priced
Disadvantages: Doesn't have speakers but I prefer a screen without them anyway

...picked out was the LG Flatron L1953S, which is a 19" that was luckily on sale for less than the 17" one, at the time. Now that we've had it for a while, I thought I should tell you what I think of this screen. First of all, I'm totally enamoured with the colours on this screen. With the old huge screens I used to own as well as with the flat one I got at work, I had to fiddle around with the colours for quite some time before it was adjusted to ...
...this LG. Straight out of the box this was absolutely perfect, and I didn't have to fiddle with anything at all. Of course, had I needed to, this would have been very easy to do. On the left hand side of the frame you'll see some symbols and hidden behind these are four buttons for adjusting every aspect of this screen. While it can be a touch confusing on how to make these work properly, there's a simple logic to these that you'll be able to pick ... Read review
