Advantages: Great Resolution, Auto Adjust Feature Disadvantages: None
Dell UltraSharp 1800 FP is an eighteen inch flat panel display that is truly breathtaking. I have the pleasure of staring at two to four of these at work all day long. They have been on my desk for over two years and are still impressive to me as the day they came out. The screen brightness has held up as well, something I was initially concerned about. Adjustable buttons on the front allow for quick and easy screen adjustments, while the Auto-Adjust ...

Advantages: crips clear picture Disadvantages: I think it takes up a lot of energy
I have been using this monitor at work for over a year now and the picture quality is crisp and bright. When you're using a monitor you definitely want these two qualities. It is easy to view pictures at true colors, you can read both large and fine print without strain to your eyes and you can have multiple pages open on your monitor without any issues.
There are 4 buttons in the front of the monitor, one is the power and the other 3 are setting ... ...came with a power cable and a serial cable (monitor cable with blue ends). The monitor has it's own stand and takes up about 4-5 inches in depth! Much improvement from the huge clunky monitors of old! It's 17 inches in diameter which these days is OK. People who work on spreadsheets, databases and design software such as Photoshop would benefit from a 19 or 21 inch monitor which was widescreen - of course that is completey my opinion! :)
The monitor ...

Advantages: Flat screen, it pivots up and down, nice clear display Disadvantages: Wobbles a bit on its little stand sometimes
I use this dear monitor every work day so feel I know it pretty well. It has several advantages which include its ability to pivot up and down - quite important for both the tall and vertically challenged amongst us.
Also, if, as I do, you tend to sometimes gather a small throng of people around your monitor to show them something on the screen, whether work-related or purely entertaining, then those on the outer edges of such a gathering may see ... ...sitting directly opposite - the advantages of a modern flat screen monitor (much better than having to turn it around to show the display to each individual and thus over time, no doubt weakening the cables that have to turn with it).
The stand of the monitor looks rather fragile but supports the screen fine - it stands pretty solidly on my desk although it does wobble quite a bit if I push my chair too hard towards my desk!
There's the option ...

Advantages: Excellent response time and clear screen Disadvantages: Somewhat costly at the $600+ region
I used the Samsung SyncMaster 710TM at work now for over a year in an office where we had 7 or 8 of the same model used by staff and clients alike. I always found them to be reliable and with clear resolutions. No complaints whatsoever on any of them so far!
The M of TM in the product name stands for multimedia - this monitor has a built in speaker, although the sound quality is nothing to write home about - it's rather tinny, so don't rely just ... ...mark.

Advantages: cheap and cheerful? Disadvantages: low stand height, no built in speakers, not for gamers
I've been using the AG Neovo F-417 for almost 2 years now and have found it to be a fairly average monitor. I use it on a daily basis at work spending a good 7-8 hours in front of it so it's worth mentioning that it doesn't seem to give me headaches or sore eyes from looking at it for great lengths of time.
As an entry level TFT LCD (which means "thin-film transistor liquid crystal display") monitor, the F-417 does actually have a sleek design and ... ...and is manufactured by AG Neovo Technology Corp. Buy.com are currently listing it for $189.99, PC Rush for $200.85 and Ink Oasis lists it for $194.60.
