Pretty & elegant - but harsh on the eyes!
Review of Samsung SyncMaster 173P by Layla

Advantages: Beautiful & elegant, crisp colors
Disadvantages: Not easy to regulate brightness/contrast, too harsh for sensitive eyes

This monitor is very beautiful and that is why I chose it. (I also liked the wide viewing angle & ability to connect analog/digital.) We bought it online, after looking at several monitors in stores. (Mostly, they pretty much looked the same.) There was a review online talking about its brightness, but I didn't take it into account. Now I wish I did. SyncMaster 173P really is exceptionally bright, to the extent that it hurts my eyes. (Truth is, ...
...of time behind the monitor. But that was precisely why I wanted a LCD display, so that it would be easier on the eyes.) /Okay, I admit my sensitivity to light got worse when using this monitor in a dark room with lights off - I thought it would be more environmentally friendly & also better for the eyes, but it wasn't. So now I make sure to have lights on, & it's a bit better../ There are no buttons for things like darker-lighter or contrast, instead ... Read review

Good wide screen monitor
Review of Samsung SyncMaster 730B by maya26

Advantages: wide screen, very clear and good color reflection, lite
Disadvantages: none

...it occupies more space. The Samsung Syncmaster is also flat at the back so its easy to clean because you can carry it all by yourself, and less space needed. You can even turn it from side to side, up and down without any hassle that it would be dropped because of its stand that holds the screen tightly. And because its from Samsung, its durable and its really a quality brand, its worth it for your money. ... Read review

Sync Your Teeth Into This Master Monitor
Review of Samsung SyncMaster 710 TM by anonymili

Advantages: Excellent response time and clear screen
Disadvantages: Somewhat costly at the $600+ region

I used the Samsung SyncMaster 710TM at work now for over a year in an office where we had 7 or 8 of the same model used by staff and clients alike. I always found them to be reliable and with clear resolutions. No complaints whatsoever on any of them so far! The M of TM in the product name stands for multimedia - this monitor has a built in speaker, although the sound quality is nothing to write home about - it's rather tinny, so don't rely just ...
...mark. All in all the Samsung SyncMaster 710TM gets big thumbs up for usability and slight thumbs down for cost. TECHNICAL STUFF (best to ignore this if you're not interested in the dimensions, etc) * The Samsung SyncMaster 710TM is a 17" TFT active matrix monitor. * The brightness is up to 300 cd/mē, dot pitch is 0.26mm and contrast ration is 600:1. * It supports 24-bit (16.7M) colours and is PC or MAC compatible. * The maximum viewing ... bad product bad warrenty
Review of HP W17e by neisch

Advantages: really nice product
Disadvantages: broke after a few months

...it. My thoughts were that HP should have either sent a repair person or prepaid package so they could repair it but this is not the way it works.Would it be nice if a computer company stood up for there products so the consumer would not have to be hassled when their products break down. I await a company like this that really thinks their product is superior enough that they could have a warrenty like this. ... Read review

AcerAL 1516 15 " screen is not a dissapointer
Review of Acer AL1516 Ab by terr0rx

Advantages: great ,sleek, great picture quality, easy presets etc.
Disadvantages: a couple of dead pixels, but none generally

The Acer AL1516 is a great 15" LCd monitor.I have been using it for a year now,no complaints so far.. everyone has a mindset about LCds that they wont work good at lower resolutions but this one works fine a t 800*600 as well but the native resolution is 1024*768. I bought this monitor so as to avoid the native resolution problem while playing games and so far no problems at all. now coming to the technical aspect, there are a couple of dead pixels ...
...screen. The functions on this monitor are great as it has an 'auto' function wherin it sets the brightness, color, contrast etc to the thing you are doing now. For eg if you are reading text, you can set the auto configure to text and the monitor adjusts accordingly, likewise there are other options too like graphics, movie, userand standard. This monitor runs on 75 Hz rehresh rate so no problems of flickering. the menu function is also great as it ... Read review
