Good old Kodak
Review of KODAK DC260 Camera by john.sw taken from ciao.co.uk

Advantages Robust and reliable
Disadvantages A bit chunky!

...The DC260 was the first Kodak mega-pixel camera. I got mine nearly three years ago for $1000.62 (about £600 at the time) from the Kodak factory shop in Rochester, New York when they were over £1000 in the UK. At that time it was really advanced and packed with features that other makers charged three times the price for! I am not sure that it is still in production, but I am writing this review to let you know that if you see one second-hand, or old stock, it could be a “best buy”. I have taken countless thousands of photographs with it for business and home use, and it has never let me down in three years. The memory is a standard Compact Flash - any make will do - which is cheap and easily found in a variety of outlets. A digital zoom is worthless on any digital camera, but the DC260 also boasts a real optical zoom. I seem... Read review

Big Fun, Big Camera
Review of KODAK DC260 Camera by jamesadyson taken from ciao.co.uk

Advantages Excellent selection of features
Disadvantages Rather large and outdated in appearance

...Back in 1999, I what was at the time a top of the range digital camera. This camera was the Kodak DC260. The Decision I choose this camera for two main reasons: 1) Having had previous experience with Kodak cameras, (both digital and 35mm), I found them to be very user friendly, and usually packed with the latest advanced features. 2) The DC260 had been recommended to my by a reliable friend, and assured me that it was well worth £900 of hard earned cash. I was not disappointed. The Features The DC260 is packed full of great features, which at the time of purchase were pretty advanced for a consumer digital camera. The camera has a small digital display on the top, which shows details of how many photos you have left, the quality setting you are using, and how much battery power you have left (among other things). On the back... Read review

Professional digital photography
Review of KODAK DC290 Digital Camera by Mcsm taken from ciao.co.uk

Advantages Ideal professional camera with plenty of memory
Disadvantages Pricey for some.

...Kodak's DC290 is the company's top of the range consumer digital camera. It features a 2.3 megapixel CCD sensing chip, which was, until the latest 3.3 megapixel models started arriving, the highest resolution generally available. The DC290 is a development of Kodak's original DC260 launched 18 months ago. Besides a 40 percent increase in maximum picture resolution, the near identical looking 290 retains the 260's unique Digita scripting control language which enables camera functions to be automated. In appearance, the 290 is much smaller than it looks in pictures. Its square profile is unusual, but generous rubberised plastic inserts provide a sculpted and protective feel which is comfortable to hold. The bright 38.4-115.2mm 3X zoom has a built in lens protector. There is the option of using the battery-conserving optical viewfinder... Read review
