I want to start by saying that I support Breast Cancer research. That is why I, a very manly man, bought this pink blender. I purchased it off of newegg.com. I wanted to spend a little bit more than I usually do on a blender. This blender by KitchenAid seemed to be just what I was looking for.
I bought the KSB560PK for just over 100 dollars. As always with newegg.com, it arrived seemingly instantly at my doorstep. I anxiously plugged it in and made various cocktails of fruits and vegetables. I was initially impressed with the power of the unit. It handled the carrots and cucumbers with ease.
After using it experimentally, I started to get down to business. I made a wide assortment of adult cocktails, smoothies, ice cream shakes, and protein drinks. All seemed to be going great!! A couple of buddies gave me a hard time about the pink color, so I, being a typical guy, blamed it on my wife!
Around a month of use, I noticed the blender wasn't as powerful as I remembered. I was blending some ice and coffee when I noticed a nasty burnt smell. I immediately knew that the motor was overheating. The consequential smoke only confirmed my suspicion.
After reviewing the warranty info on newegg.com, and finding out that the product was covered only by the manufacturer, I contacted kitchenAid by phone. Needless to say, they had absolutely horrible customer service. The lady that I talked to was not only useless, she was rude as well!!
I was informed that I needed to send the unit in for repairs or replacement, under the one year manufacturer warranty. I found this out after being asked about 30 questions about how I used the product. I sent the blender in and I am awaiting the new one.
Overall, I am completely dissatisfied with the product. It wasn't even worth 15 dollars, much less 109!!! I will never deal with KitchenAid again. They lost my business forever. I will sell the replacement blender online, as I am going to go a different route. Stay clear of this product!!
