Manufacturer's product description
The DMC-J7R Mini Disc Recorder from Kenwood offers an enormous number of audio and mini disc features. One of them is Digital Anti-Skip, a special circuit designed to read musical data directly from the disc, store it in memory, and then play the music back from a memory buffer. The result is a reduction in skipping from bumping or vibration. The longer the musical data is stored in the buffer, the less the system will skip. CD, MD, or Microphone Synchro Recording automatically begins recording when the source begins playing. Microphone synchro recording begins recording when the connected microphone detects a sound. Optical Digital Input with Sampling Rate Converter makes direct digital recordings from sources with 32kHz, 44.1kHz, and 48kHz sampling rates, eliminating extra digital-to-analog and analog-to-digital conversion steps. Direct digital recordings are exact clones of the original. 6-Mode LCD Display on the remote control can display the following: Disc Name, Number of Tracks, Total Play Time, Current Track Title, Current Track Number, and Current Track Elapsed Time. Fast-Forward/Fast-Reverse audibly plays tracks during fast-forward and fast reverse, making it easy to search for a particular part of a song. This unit automatically goes into play when a disc is inserted. Auto Power Save increases battery life by approximately 20% by automatically reducing the length of Digital Anti-Skip protection. Track numbers can easily be assigned either automatically during recording or manually afterward. Bass Boost Increases bass by a pre-set amount and gives music a richer, fuller sound. Disc Naming lets the user program a title for each disc. Function Key Hold disables all of the keys on the face of the player, preventing accidental activation and loss of battery power. The user can rapidly search for a particular spot on the disc by using the player's time display. Quick search function allows for faster search speed than conventional Audible Fast-Forward/Fast-Reverse. Recording Date and Time Stamp automatically records the date and time a mini disc was recorded. Touch-Tone Keys produce an audible tone each time a function key is pressed. The included mini disc editing functions that can be performed after a disc has been recorded. Track Moving allows a track to be moved to another location on the disc. Track Combining combines 2 adjacent tracks into 1. Track Dividing splits a single track into 2 tracks. High-performance headphones have extended bass response and dynamic range. 2 AA LiIon batteries provide 7.5 hours record time and 13 hours playback.
