Manufacturer's product description
Kenwood's goal has always been to develop and offer a carefully planned range of the highest quality audio products to give you the maximum freedom to enjoy the purest, cleanest sound possible across the widest variety of Hi-Fi applications. Today, as world enters the digital era, you can depend on Kenwood innovative products and remarkable advances to bring out the full potential of breakthrough technologies. For those who believe that great sounds are not a luxury, but one of life's essentials, Kenwood will continue to play an important role in unparalleled audio performance, functionality and design. CD-206 employs Kenwood's proprietary DRIVE distortion reduction circuitry, which uses low-pass filters and extremely high-speed switching to reduce distortion in the digital-to-analog conversion process - you'll love the musical clarity and detail! And in addition to a host of 5-disc carousel conveniences, it offers both a coaxial and an optical digital output for direct digital compatibility with practically any MiniDisc or DAT recorder on the planet. Dual 1-bit Digital-to-Analog converter significantly improves small signal linearity to provide pure reproduction of the original sound recorded on a compact disc. Dual D/A converter provides redundancy when translating the digital information to an analog signal, reducing errors. Digital Filter with 8x oversampling combines excellent phase linearity with superb suppression of digital noise, resulting in better and more natural sound and imaging. Digital Filter removes unwanted digital artifacts from the signal while it is still in the digital domain, allowing the use of gentler-sloped, better sounding analog filters. CD-206 features 20-track music calendar, auto function one-touch operation, and full-function remote with direct track access. It's provided with disc sensing and audible fast-forward/fast-reverse, and is compatible with 3" CDs.
