Manufacturer's product description
And the award for smallest satellite speakers goes to...Harman Multimedia for the tiny, graceful JBL Sonnet! What surprises, though, is how rich a sound field they're able to generate. At first glance, you may expect to hear the tinny tones of an internal PC speaker coming out of these little 2.13-by-2.5-by-4.38-inch speakers. Thanks to an innovative set of drivers and a more-powerful-than-it-looks subwoofer, they manage to pump out the aural richness you'd expect from speakers twice their size. Blow it up! The innovation in question is called the Odyssey Transducer - a little driver not much wider than a dime that pushes a hell of a lot more air than you'd think. There are a pair of these transducers in each satellite speaker, and at a glance you'd expect them to be tweeters - allowing the subwoofer to bring up the midrange and the bass - but don't be fooled. The little speakers shine their brightest while creating positional sounds; they're very convincing. The JBL Sonnet will please anyone with an extremely cramped workspace. Casual gamers and listeners will certainly feel that they've gotten their money's worth.
