JBL CONTROL 1

Advantages Excellent sound for an excellent price! Solid build, 100 watts RMS
Disadvantages None for the price!

...I have owned 2 pairs of JBL Control 1 speakers and they have never let me down! The first pair I owned I gave to my dad as he liked the sound so much! These are bookshelf speakers and measure (H x W x D) 227 x 130 x 140 mm. They can be mounted on a stand, on a shelf or you can also order the wall brackets from jbl. For the size they have an excellent sound, warm solid bass with crisp mid and treble. They are 100 watts RMS and can really handle some power. The speaker is 2 way, comprising of a 4" bass woofer and a 1/2" titanium laminate dome tweeter. These speakers also feature a front mounted bass port. When you play the speakers loud its is astonishing the amount of air that is forced out of the bass ports! ...WOW! Never have I heard any speakers that sound so good... These are absoloutley amaizing.... The JBL control 1's are small but powerful speakers. These are ideal for the profesional or the home user. The sound reproduction is probably the best I have heard. Even running off a home stereo they sound good. So long as the amp does the output these speakers will sound just fine.... they act great as satalite speakers and ideal for partys because of their small size. They are stylish too. The small size with the black colour looks excelent, but they are also producde in white so there is a choice. Also the logo on the speaker front spins round so no matter which way up the speakers are the logo is always the same way too... Overall a good buy for the money.... Read review

...JBL although most people have probably not heard of them they are one of the top speaker manufacturers in the world. They are mainly involved in manufacturing speakers for concert venues and cinemas, next time you visit your local multiplex and the lights are on have a look at the speakers and most likely they are JBL. The control 1 is from the professional series of speaker and I believe is still available today. They are marketed as compact monitors and are quite heavily used in small environments such as bars and small theatres etc, as for their size they produce an excellent sound. I have had my 4 speakers for around 4 years and use them with my Sony Dolby Digital amplifier to provide the sound to my DVD’s.
