I don't know not one single person who doesn't like pizza. Pizza is one of most peoples' all time favorites. Once, as I was watching a cable television reality show, the people from the show were at an Italian restaurant, since the people from this reality show are very wealthy, it must have been a very pricey Italian restaurant. Well as I watched the American girls from this reality were really into the food, since it was their first time to Italy they were very happy to try new things, suddenly one of the women says "Wow, Pizza balls! Why didn't I think of that?" So Immediately I thought...pizza balls, how cool is that! So I searched for the recipe and found a great one. I prepared it and it was amazing! Maybe an Italian won't agree that this is authentic but it is definately delicious. It only takes about 40 minutes to fully prepare and it serves about 10 people!
INGREDIENTS:
1 pound of ground Italian sausage
2 cups of baking mix
1 chopped green bell pepper
1 yellow onion, chopped
1 (16 ounce) package shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup of pizza sauce
1 cup of water
HOW TO PREPARE: Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Lightly grease a large baking sheet. In a medium bowl, mix together Italian sausage, baking mix, green bell pepper, yellow onion, mozzarella cheese and pizza sauce. Gradually stir in water until the mixture is a workable consistency. Roll into 1 inch balls. Arrange pizza balls on the baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven 20 minutes, or until lightly browned. Serve hot and enjoy! These are great for kids and everyone else. They are great snacks!
