If the iron is left standing vertically then it automatically switches itself off after 8 minutes. If the iron is left standing horizontally for longer than 30 seconds then it switches itself off,and if its flipped over by mistake the appliance automatically switches off after 30 seconds. I don't know if this has ever happened. The spray feature broke along with the steam-burst feature. The no kink cord split right away and water leaks from the bottom ...

If you MUST iron then try Rowenta

I am a creature of habit and while I don't actually much like the process of ironing I do love the results and as my late mother always swore by the Rowenta brand I have always bought and used Rowenta irons.
The last iron I had was called a Surfline and gave me many years of sterling service until, sadly, one day I mis-set the dial, ironed a garment at the wrong temperature and found half the garment melting to the base plate... ... ...delightfully balanced and with typical Rowenta smoothness it just glided over my laundry and ironing leaving me with a great finish to each item.
I haven't used the vertical steam function much but the couple of times I have used it, it has impressed. Each time, of course, I have said to myself that the dropping out of creases was more to do with steam in the bathroom where the garment was hung before I used the iron but, in honesty?, that probably ...
