If the iron is left standing vertically then it automatically switches itself off after 8 minutes. If the iron is left standing horizontally for longer than 30 seconds then it switches itself off,and if its flipped over by mistake the appliance automatically switches off after 30 seconds. ROWENTA DX1900 I am a creature of habit and while I don't actually much like the process of ironing I do love the results and as my late mother always swore by the Rowenta brand I have always bought and used Rowenta irons.
