I'm a grown man and usually I don't get into the whole comic book movie thing, but this movie really caught me off guard. I was at my parent's house for Sunday dinner and after eating, my 11 year old brother put this movie on to watch. At first I didn't care about watching it, but after watching for a few minutes I was hooked.
This is a very well filmed and very well thought out movie. The story line is very complex and the actors / actress do a great job of getting into their roles. The main actors / actresses in the movie are Robert Downey Jr., Terrence Howard, Jeff Bridges, and Gwyneth Paltrow.
Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) is the billionaire main character. I am a big fan of Robert Downey's films, so I really enjoyed watching him play this role. The plot of this movie revolves around Tony Stark, who owns Stark Industries, which is a mass weapons manufacturer. Tony is kidnapped by terrorists and forced to manufacture a bomb that is capable of destroying a whole country. Instead of making the bomb, Tony instead makes an indestructible suit made out of iron, and allows him to escape from the terrorists. The iron suit allows him to fly and also kill the enemy. After returning back home from being held hostage Tony takes a vow to stop manufacturing weapons and start perfecting more iron suits that will allow him to fight against other terrorists.
I won't say much more about the story because I don't want to give away any of the twists or the ending. This is a serious movie with serious situations, but there is just enough humor to keep you laughing every once in a while. This is a COOL movie. It is packed with exotic cars, and some of the coolest electronics you will ever see. Being a guy and loving exotic cars and technology, this really made me happy! The special effects were also amazing in this movie. Way better than other movies in this genre. You don't have to be into comic books or superhero movies to like this movie. I am not a fan of fantasy / superhero movies, but this one was very entertaining. I like it so much that I bought a copy for myself. There should be a disclaimer on this movie because it really gets you pumped up! After watching this, my adrenaline was up so high that I had to go to the gym just to get rid of all my extra energy. If the story isn't appealing to you, then at least check it out just for the "cool factor." You will want to be Tony Stark after you watch this. Who wouldn't want to be a billionaire that flies around fighting evil!
***This movie also has a pretty cool soundtrack as well.
