Review of Iron Maiden by szakul123

Advantages: great vocals ( with Dickinson ), lots of fantastic songs with strong guitar base and solos
Disadvantages: Boring albums recorded with Blaze

Iron Maiden is the most known artist which belongs to "New Wave of British Heavy Metal" with bands like: Saxon, Diamond Head and Savage. It was formed by Steve Harris in 1975. The first 2 studio albums were released in 1980 and 1981 and were titled: "Iron maiden" and "killers". At the end of 1981 the new vocalist, Bruce Dickinson, has joined the band. Today it seams to be one of the most important moment in the history of British heavy metal. With ...

In my opinion albums The X Factor (1995) and Virtual XI (1998) can't be even compare to great records with ... Read review

Great british steele band
Review of Iron Maiden by jtbull46

Advantages: good songs, very melodic guitars and great vocals
Disadvantages: none

Great heavy metal band from Great Britan. They were part of what is know as the "british steele" invasion with the likes of def lepard and judas priest. The vocals are amazing their main siger, bruce dickinson can hit high notes better than most in music. The guitar playing is also very good. Its not overly technical compared to other guitarists, but it is very melodic and almost relaxing. As a historian, one thing I really always like about them ...
...high about the british air force during world war 2. The song run to the hill is about the plight of the native american in united states history. I must say one of my favorites by them was alexander the great. It is almost perfectly historically accurate and one of the best guitar performances. Some slow and some fast parts. ... Read review

Best British Metal Band
Review of Iron Maiden by dorian151

Advantages: fast, lively, good singer
Disadvantages: none

Iron Maiden are a very good british heavy metal band, who were very well known throughout the world as one of the best metal bands ever, and one of the first to adapt to their style of music. They had a combination of powerful and high range vocals, with fast extensive guitar solos, creating the ideal heavy metal element in songs that metal fans always like to hear. My favorite song is the number of the beast, you should check it out on youtube ... Read review

Iron Maiden - Best Of The Beast
Review of Best Of The Beast, The - Iron Maiden by Dangerpie taken from ciao.co.uk

Advantages It has every Maiden classic you can think of!
Disadvantages A few tracks which really shouldn't be on there.

...Back in the days I was just getting into metal, I desperately needed one big album which was more heavy metal than a lead elephant. The ablum that fulfilled my dreams was Iron Maiden's Best Of The Beast. Tracks have been ripped from the very albums they first appeared on, to this fantastic compilation of Maiden's best eddie tunes. I refer to Eddie of course as a half human, half underworld creature who has taken many forms as Iron Maiden's mascot. This includes a WW1 fighter pilot from the cover of "Aces High", a huge god like egyptian statue guarding the pyramids on "Powerslave" and Eddie can also been seen on Maiden's most famous Album "The Number Of The Beast" playing with Satan like a puppet. Virus: This is an unsual starter to the Album. This could be because it was never on any other albums. Blaze Bayley was around when... Read review

It was the last gig Maiden done on their tour of their album Brave New World, and was undoubtedly the biggest. ...This album is one of several greatest hits compilations of Iron Maiden. This is perhaps one of the best ones, but is only one CD long. Background of band: Iron maiden was formed in east London in 1975 by bassist Steve Harris and has now gone on to be one of the biggest selling bands in the heavy metal genre, with over 80 million albums sold worldwide. The band is well known for its mascot, Eddie, who features on most of the album artwork and also has his own computer game. Members: Steve Harris - Bass Dave Murray - Guitars Nicko McBrain - Drums Bruce Dickinson - Vocals Adrian Smith - Guitars Janick Gers - Guitars Song by song review: 1. "Run to the Hills" This is one of Iron Maiden’s most well known songs, which has the chant – along chorus. Always will be known as one of the true great metal songs... Read review

great british rock band
Review of Def Leppard by  jtbull46

Advantages: great musicianship and vocals
Disadvantages: too much partying at times

...awesome band in the british steel invasion. Their music did take on different directions. Initially it was very heavy like judas priest or iron maiden but later borderd on glam rock. The band went through some line up changes. One of the most notoble things that i found in this band is that the drummer lost his arm after a auto accident and everyone thought his drumming days were over. Determination proved to work in his favor. He had a special kick pedal designed to play the parts he used to play with the hand he lost with his foot. He still played quite well with the new set up. Their album hysteria, which is also when their musical style became a little less heavy, was one of the biggest selling rock albums of all time. Some of their great songs include. fooling, photograph, bringing on the heartbreak, animal, women and amragedon... Read review

top 10 bands
Review of Top Ten Bands by  jtbull46

Advantages: diverse and good music and guitars
Disadvantages: some parties a little too much

..., November rain, Sweet child o mine, think about you, Mama Kin, Nice boys, one in a million and Don't cry. 9.) Iron Maiden. Another band that had really good music with vocals. I must say their live shows were not as good performances as their albums ( as far as the songs), but the guitar and bass were great. Some of my favorites include, Two minutes to midnight, run to the hills, Flash of the blade, The duelists, Aces high, Alexander the great, and wasted years. I will have to think 10 it has changed quite a bit over time, but Cinderella, classic def leppard, twisted sister and others are up there.... Read review

Gold List
Review of Top Ten Bands by  rfm767

Advantages: Immortal Bands
Disadvantages: None.

..., Love street, The end, Roadhouse Blues, L.A. Woman, Light my Fire, Alabama song, Hello I love you, Touch me, Peace frog, to name just a few… A phrase that will live for eternity as they were presented; "Ladies and Gentleman, from Los Angeles California, THE DOORS!" Iron Maiden One of the best hard rock bands, they were pioneers in including satanic lyrics to their songs, their music was also great, extremely potent riffs, and memorable choruses. Perhaps a harder rock than previous bands I've named, but certainly can be enjoyed but anyone that likes rock. Classics by them: The number of the Beast, The trooper, 2 minutes to midnight, Run to the hills, Wicker man, and many many more. Deep Purple Another trademark of classic rock, Richie Blackmore in the guitar was a genius, he composed extremely complex solos... Read review
