As zip drives go this is a reliable work horse. The down side is the bulkiness of the unit and the size of the discs. The up side is that you can reformat the disc and reuse it over and over. I use this to store items that I don't want to otherwise clutter up my hard disc with. It's great for storing personal information and you can access the stored file and edit and save without needing to reformat the entire drive. Each disc holds 100mb of memory so if you're looking to back up your entire hard drive it's best to go with another medium. Connecting the unit to your pc is done through a usb cable. The unit is powered directly from your pc via the usb port. If you intend to use this zip drive to transfer to another pc just keep in mind that you'll need to install the driver and carry the drive, the usb cable and the disc with you in order to do it. Unless, the computer you're migrating to happens to have a zip drive as well.
