After 6 weeks of use, limited duty, and the unit being off when not in use, the blue disk activity light has failed; otherwise it has worked well, but my confidence is now shaken. What are the consequences to not being able to discern the On/Off, status, activity of this unit? What does this say about the Thai manufacturing or materials of construction?

I have never had any problems with this gadget. I mainly got it because I have 200+ movies and they took up too much space. This holds about 500 GB worth of music, movies and pictures. It come with an easy to use remote and a long enough cord to plug into your tv. It doesn't come in HD formatting which kind of sucks but all in all this is a really good system.
