Advantages light, large storage and fast! Disadvantages -
...I had absolutely no need for one of these really but thought I would snap it up when a friend offered it to me for £40. As I travel between my mums and my own home a lot it was useful to be able to just unplug this and take everything I need with me and lug it straight into my mum’s pc. This particular portableharddrive is sleek stylish and has a decent memory capacity (80GB) it is USB-powered and needs no external power supply.

Advantages great handy portable drive Disadvantages none
...I did buy this because i thought it very good and so the review that follows.
Design
The portableharddrive comes in an attractive silver and white case that has USB2 and FireWire 400 ports. It is a fully functional travel companion and easily fits into a rucksack or laptop bag. This is feasable because it weighs relatively little and is easy to handle.
Installation
The instructions were easy to follow and it installed by windows wizard as soon as i plugged it in, so within 20 minutes i was backing up my files.
Performance
Performance is good for a portablehard disk, and there was no real difference in speed between the two interfaces. That said, it is only 160GB, which is a bit much when you can get a near-identical Western Digital Passport 120GB for £65.
Features
It doesn't ship with backup software, just file...

Advantages compact and easy to move Disadvantages competition is better
...I seem to go through harddrives like a hot knife through butter, so it was no wonder that a warning appeared about low space left on my computer. Therefore i decided to review different harddrives offered by various companies before deciding which to purchase.
Now i did not buy this Iomega, but only because i found a cheaper western digital passport with twice the gb offered. I found this to be a great performer as i was allowed to test it.
