IntelliPort II - serial adapter - 8 ports

The IntelliPort II is an I/O-mapped Multi-port remote access solution that combines modular expandability with efficient data buffering. Building a custom subsystem is easy. Select the host adapter that you need (PCI, ISA or EISA), and then choose one or more SlimLine or Tower style multiport modules. Start with 8 or 16 ports, and then expand up to three additional RS-232 and RS-422 modules. Up to 64 devices (printers, modems, terminals, etc.) can be connected through a single host expansion slot. IntelliPort II host adapters are manufactured using state-of-the-art surface mount technology and high-density ASIC chips, and include a 20Mhz CPU and 512K RAM for maximum throughput. Each multi-port module is equipped with high-speed CD-1400 quad UXARTs and surge/spike protection on all transmit (TxD) and receive (RxD) signals. Tower style modules include a wiring cabinet, removable door, and LCD panel for monitoring and control of individual ports. All multiport modules can be wall mounted.
