The university of illinois football team known as the fighting illioni. They compete in the big ten conference. They have not been a great team as of yet but they have won four national championships and fifteen conference titles in their past. They never had a heisman trophy winner but have had other award winners. THey have sixteen players in the college hall of fame and six players in the pro football hall of fame including legendary line backers dick butkus and ray nitscke.
They should have a pretty good shot at having some success in the future. They are in a highly competitive conference and gets lots of television exposure that is there for them, which also helps with their recruiting efforts. This past year they were ten and two and made it to the suger bowl were they lost.
