...of musical history took a sudden lurch in a new direction. And it caused a riot.
The event promised to be a pleasant evening out at the ballet at the Champs-Elysees Theatre in Paris. A young composer, Igor Stravinsky, already popular through his ballet music for The Firebird and Petrouchka, had written a new ballet, Le Sacre du Printemps (The Rite of Spring.). The great Ballets Russes, formed four years earlier by Sergei Diaghilev, was to perform the ballet and a large audience turned up, looking forward no doubt to a charming, colourful spectacle and to some wonderful Russian music. Stravinsky had, after all, been a pupil of the great Nicolai Rimsky-Korsakov, a composer of highly colourful music including Sheherazade and The Flight of the Bumblebee. And young Igor Stravinsky had been his most gifted student.

“Petruschka and the puppet king” a play directed by Andy Hallwaxx. There’s colorful market and a small theatre on the stage. Theatre belongs to a storyteller. There’re three puppets: Petruschka, a Russian clown, elegant ballerina and a stranger full of secrets. The puppets are coming to life and are actors as well. Finally they are in the chance to do all nonsense they pleased to do. They have short-term freedom because the mean puppet kind Igor will want his puppets back under his control. ...Made in the 1940's "Fantasia" is nothing short of a monument as a sign of great Filmmaking.
As the movie cover says, "This extraordinary
blend of magnificent music and animation is
an exhilarating sight and sound experience".
I couldn't describe it better myself.
The movie starts out as an elegant musical
performance that is lead by Conductor Leopold
Stokowski and The Philadelphia Orchestra.
He explains every piece you hear will hear
in this fantastic animated feature.
There are works by John Sebastian Bach,
a great German composer such as Toccata and Fugue in D Minor, The Rite of Spring by Igor Stravinsky, The Nutcracker Waltz by Pyotr
Tchaikovsky , famous Russian composer
that is recognized all over the world, all accompanied by great Disney Animation.
