The model 1FD of the IBM SurePoint Flat Panel Display family is a space-saving 10-inch screen size high-performance monitor. It can be attached to Retail Point of Sale (POS) Terminals or Food service/hospitality systems. This monitor attaches via the VGA/SVGA interfaces on the system units and requires no additional adapter cards. IBM's ultra slim high-resolution SVGA-capable monitors are designed for the retail environment. The high brightness display can be adjusted to lighting conditions that vary from store to store. A cover designed for spill resistance helps protect the monitor against inevitable accidents. The displays use less power and emit less heat than standard CRT-type displays. They accommodate a wide variety of integrated and distributed mounting configurations, including VESA-compliant options for wall hanging, for example.
