It produces that nice cool circulating air around the room. It is not too loud but satisfactory indeed. You can turn it on low or even high. It makes my kis feel much better when it is on. My larger Bemis unit had quit after about 10 years in the middle of Wisconsin winter I needed a replacement quick and big box stores typically don't stock humidifiers after fall so of the slim pickings I took this on sale. The permafilter is a lie. It's like any other wicking filter. After two months the filter was as hard as rock or stone and flithy. Instructions ...
...save it. The whole interior of the unit was coated in mineral flake and I had been using softened water. The unit would also randomly pee on the floor and pump water out the side for no apparent reason. Overall, even though I needed a humidifier to stay healthy this was a bad machine and a few weeks after spending hours cleaning it and replacing the filters, its simply quit working except for the nightlight.
