Hitachi's VT-FX6500A has the basics with which to serve in your home theater system. Its four heads and hi-fi stereo sound should satisfy videocassette renters and TV show tapers alike. The VT-FX6500A also has both front- and rear-panel A/V inputs and a speedy 180x rewind speed. Four video heads give you cleaner still, search, and slow motion images than from a 2-head VCR. 19-micron heads help to deliver clearer picture in the tape-conserving EP (extended play) mode. Also notable is that the VT-FX6500A can play S-VHS tapes, though only at VHS resolution. Along with these performance features, the VT-FX6500A offers auto clock setup, a real-time counter and index search. The latter makes it easier to locate a particular program or spot on a tape.
