These headphone are nice to have but are expensive. My step daughter got her a pair because the other kinds she use began hurting her ears. These do not hurt her ears and they are static free. She can hear her music so clear that I some times ask to use them. They are not hard to maintain and keep in good shape. These were my very first good quality headphones and I still love them. In terms of sound quality, they were exactly what i was looking for. As far as durability goes, not as much but keep in mind that I used these headphones just about everyday for 2 years and very long hours. I first saw these headphone on a plane, while reading the SkyMall magazine and I though that they would be perfect for me because I hate noisey plane rides and for other places also. The next day I ordered them online and as soon as I recived them I tried them out, I plugged them into my iPod and sat next to my TV and tuned the volume on the TV up all the way it can go.
