This carving knife, the Hamilton Beach 74250, has provided me with excellent results for 2 years running now. Unlike some of the other units ive tried in the past, this knife cuts through all types of meat, like Turkeys, Roasts, or Hams like well a knife through butter. One thing that i really enjoy about it is its consistency in cutting. Whereas sometimes ive cut with blades that hack up the meat into bits and pieces, this knife gives you a consistent even slice everytime, and guests find a nice slice of meat alot easier to deal with. The reason for this i believe is the handle grip that the unit has which is fairly unique. You will also find that the serrated steel blade also adds to this remarkable piece of equipment. This 100 watt Hamilton Beach and its blade have even allowed me to slice homemade loafs of bread that ive made, which if you have experience with electric knives, is not the easiest thing to accomplish. The Hamilton Beach also has the added luxury of coming with a stainless steel meat fork, to sturdily hold your meat in place why you carve, and a wonderful case to contain the unit and its blades in, to keep them out of harms way from the little ones. All and all, a terrific little workhorse in your kitchen!
