Advantages Clear screen, easy set up, cheap Disadvantages sometimes text unclear.
...I recently purcahsed this monitor from John Lewis at a very reasonable price, lower than i see it available today. The monitor itself was ready to go straight from the box.
The brightview technology is superior to a standard CRT or even 99% of LCD monitors i have seen, the picture is clear and crisp and shows photos off magnificently. A small downfall is that sometimes when reading text it can be slightly blurry, but all you need to do then is use the auto picture button and select text, sorted, this only happens once in a month if that.
the 1000:1 contrast ratio is fine for this sized screen, blacks are brilliantly black and highlight the colours, the clearscreen is clearly the way forward in the future. I would suggest this Monitor too all but especially those who play computer game, watch tv or films on their comp, not...

I was going to get a Samsung 226BW because of the 2ms response time until i started reading about the
different versions going about. the S version manufactured by Samsung, being one released to the press for review
the other lesser versions A and C that were sub-contracted out to other manufacurers and are sub-standard versions,
that give blue color casts etc.
The Samsung 226CW that has recently come onto the market and is now available in the UK is the replacement
for the 226BW...
