Advantages Very good picture quality, Nice looking, Fairly straight forward to use Disadvantages Lens cap, Camera quite bulky
...I brought my MX 2900 digital camera last year and although parting with £399 made me whince a bit I havent looked back and don't regret a penny of it. To start with the camera looks like a traditional camera. However because of this and its size it isn't exactly pocket sized (unless you have cavernous pockets). It is quite a simple camera to use in its basic automatic mode.
I dont know a great deal about photography and therefore mainly use it in basic mode. I just wanted to get a good picture that I could download and print off. It has advanced features that I rarely use and perhaps spending this amount of money for a point and shoot camera is a bit excessive, but I brought it for picture quality and not necessarily the features. It is 2.3 megapixels - which gives very good qualiy prints even from my 2 year old HP Deskjet 1120c inkjet...

Advantages Slimline, many different options and room for expansion Disadvantages not too many, mainly the price issue

Input and Output
------------------------------------------------------
Along with the audio input and output ports I mentioned above, the laptop also comes with 3 USB 2.0 ports, a 15 pin VGA port, an RJ-11 port (for a modem line), an RJ-45 port (for a hardwired Ethernet network), s-video out, Infra red, a docking port, and a compartment for the spare HP travel battery.
There is also an in built smartcardreader and a spare PCMCIA cardbus slot.
Communication
------------------------------------------------------
The model I have has a Broadcom 802.11g wireless card (internal) and I chose the option to go bluetooth, but you can make the choice for yourself...

Advantages Versatility, Quality, Appearance Disadvantages Speed, Small screen
...I have to say I was scepticle about buying an all-in-one printer/scanner/fax machine because I never imagined it would be able to preform as well the individual items themselves.
However, I have been pleasantly surprised by this piece of kit. It's been churning out prints, copies and faxes for me with no problems whatsoever. The quality is as good as any other inkjet I've used in the past and the scanner is top notch! The cartridges seem to last forever with me only having to replace them once over the last eight months. I stuck with HP cartridges and picked them up for £13.99 for the the black and £15.99 for the colour.
With the bonus of having the cardreader built into the front of the machine (Compact Flash and Smart Media) you really can't go wrong for the price. I used to use a seperate cardreader for downloading my photos...
