Advantages Prints good quality photos whilst also good as a home office printer Disadvantages Cartridges are quite expensive for the unit
...Its all very well having a digital camera, but the hardest thing is finding something at a decent price that will print them with decent quality without having to buy something specifically for the job! That was my philosophy until I found this printer. The HP Photosmart 7850.
Let's start with the brand. Hewlett Packard have always, to me, been THE make of quality, consistent printers. I still use on another computer an old deskjet and it serves me as well as it did when it was brand new. The 7850 is no exception. Its space saving with the paper being loaded at the front of the unit - a common feature of HP printers, it prints quickly and quietly without problems or malfunctions, and the most important thing, the quality of the results are superb.
What sets apart the Photosmart 7850 from most inkjet printers are its photo...

Advantages Excellent true to life photo quality Disadvantages Delicate cartridges, not recommended for refill
...Here we have an excellent print. It arrives with the best HP cartridges, the photo cartridge containing the brand new high tech ink by HP, allowing better tone for things like skin on photos.
With its 6x4 photo paper cartridge, printing snaps is easy, especially since it can read four different memory cards, not to mention allowing USB connections direct to your camera.
One of the faster photo printers, there is less of a wait when printing your pictures, but dont expect them to fly out at lightspeed, it may be fast but its not a miracle.
The package comes with very easy to use software allowing easy, thought very basic, photo editing, and some pretty good product support.
One of the major downsides to this printer is that, if you want to keep your "high tech ink" for your fantastic quality photos, it'll cost you...

Advantages Good Printing Quality, Some Nice HP freebies, Install Plug And Play Easy. Disadvantages Slow Colour and Photo printing time, The Price of The HP Cartridges!! Irritating software.
...Fantastic little printer for good money (i got mine from play.com for less than £30). I love the quirky little features too such as the little photo paper holder and the ink cartridge saver. Simple to use and you don't even need a computer for some printing. You can use an SD card or, XD card or, MS, etc... It says in the description! You can also use a computer with pictbridge to print directly from the camera, even though I don't encourage that kind of thing. HOWEVER when I bought it, it did not come with a computer to printer cable! Which was incredibly annoying! I'm not sure if it was HP or the website's fault, but I shopped around and nabbed a cable for £3. The software that comes with it is also very very annoying! It sets up a few background process (ultimately just slows your computer down) which as far as I can tell do nothing!...
