...I've had this camera since 2001 (purchased it in 2001 for $600 Canadian dollars) and have loved it ever since. By today's standards, it's entry level, but at the time, it was quite expensive and aimed towards the amateur photographers. It features a 3x optical zoom, which is important for getting crisp pictures. It also has a remote control so you can take pictures with you in them. There are many options (change ISO, exposure settings, etc) and has many built in modes (night, landscape, action, sepia, black and white). It can't take video, but it can record sound. The pictures are quite good, and will rival any camera currently on the market that is two megapixels. It has red eye reduction as well and takes 4 batteries (which it eats up very quickly).
If you see it on ebay for cheap and just want something to take nice pictures...

...Surely there are better digital cameras like the HPPhotoSmart C618 in the meantime, but it is them/her/it little about a fully equipped and powerful digital seeker camera for a hobby photographer for itself wishes frankly leaves. Also for a beginner, this camera is practically and intuitively compact to serve. With your dissolution, one really gets an outstanding picture quality of 2,1 mega pixels, and that of DIN A4 themselves in a format. Especially well, I find the possibility infrared the picture data about one - interface, to transfer on a corresponding photo printer. All together, I can digitally for the native one - laboratory only to 100 percent recommends.
