...I bought this monitor (along with an HP Pavilion a1600n Desktop PC) Brand New from Circuit City in Portage, Michigan. I paid $239.99 plus tax for the monitor & $599.99 for the PC, for a grand total of $890.38. I was not offered an extended warranty by the salesman, as he assured me that I would not need one. Monitor seemed to work very good until it stopped working one morning. (1 year & 53 days later to be exact) I contacted Circuit City about repair & they wanted $59.00 just to look at it. They said that they would NOT help me out in any way. I had just been to Circuit City 2 days before the monitor stopped working & dropped over $200.00 on a Brand New 4GB IPOD Nano, that I WAS offered a warranty on, that I DID buy. ...The HP pavillion Vs17e is an excellent and colourful monitor. It has a high resolution and displays sharp images making it great for watching movies. Because of its lightness and small body its very convient and can fit just about anywhere; somtimes its as if it isn't even there. The speakers are intergrated and discretly hidden and offer only a decent output of sound so i suggest buying additional speaker if your into playing Music on a pc. The screen has a removeable base so if your a traveller its easy to pack. Overall the performance of this machine is pretty decent but as a user of this monitor i cannot lie about my expirences. I have twice had to replace this monitor because of dodgy pixels but now im on my third and the only problem this gives me is that ocassionaly the scren may just turn black and turn off.
