One of the main reasons for my purchase of an Ipod was the ability to listen to my tunes anywhere and everywhere I possibly can, so when it came to finding a transmitter to get the right sound and performance that also fit well in my car, my search ended with the Griffin Roadtrip.
The Roadtrip is a package that contains a transmitter and dock that can connect directly to your vehicle or lighter adapter to which from you can set and/or mount. The way it's contoured, is literally PERFECT for my 2006 Honda Civic for where the adapter is located. So those with the new modeled Civics this is a definite must have for the Ipod enthusiast. NOTE: Obviously the position of the outlets differ from vehicle to vehicle but it also has two extensions short and long which adjust inward and outward, and can rotate along the base itself to aid you in the perfect positioning.
Being able to mount it on top with it's protective cradle, the car holder is able to fit your Ipod snugly. Which Ipod though? Doesn't matter... the Roadtrip comes with more narrow protective cradle to fit your Ipod Nano as well as the Classic, and an adapter for the Ipod Mini.
Setting it up is easy. Simply plug it in to your adapter, turn it on if it doesn't already, and just set the frequency to which you have many, if not all the frequencies to choose from. The transmitter can select signals from 88.1 to 107.9, so finding one that'll play best shouldn't be a problem. And you don't need to worry about running out of power... because the Roadtrip transmitter serves as a charger as well!
The Roadtrip is not limited to your car either. With it's removable transmitter and usb connection cord that's included in the package, you can use your module to play music from your Mac AND PC to any home stereo!
Other than the fact that I have to remove my protective casing before using, (which is the only negative keeping it from a 5 star rating), I couldn't be more pleased with the Griffin Roadtrip. It's a real bargain... especially if you know where to look ;-).
