Gaunlet legends was a rather good game that I played. I must say I did not think that I was going to like it, but I did. It is not really like the arcade game as much as some people would think at first. You can choose between a larger variety of characters. I recall the barbiarian had like three version. A big hercules type guy. a small drawf type person, and I believe a female. There was also a wizard, and like three or four other characters that ... ...and go through different worlds. You have death and need to escape him sometimes and also can use magic in the game. There are secret passages in the game that you can go through to win the game. This was probably one of my favorite dreamcast games. To win it I did have to finally buy a strategy type book ...

Fight evil as you venture through a magical land in which wizards and warriors coexist with orcs and goblins. Find the power-ups, flip the switches, and fight the monsters as you undertake a quest to defeat the evil Skorne and restore peace in the universe. Work your way through castles, forests, deserts, and temples; earn some money to upgrade your weapons and powers as you lead up to the ultimate showdown with Skorne.

Detailed Description: The diabolical Skorne has scattered the planet's powerful rune stones throughout the world so that nobody can use their powers to challenge his evil rule. Pick your character either the Warrior, Wizard, Valkyrie, or Archer and work with your party as you go on the ultimate manhunt. Fight your way through castles, deserts, temples, and forests and upgrade your weapons and powers as you collect money and experience. The action is fast and furious, but if you don't fight smart you'll find yourself right back where you started. But it'll take more than a powerful punch to get far, as there are a host of puzzles that will challenge your mind and might mean the difference between success and failure. Can you find the rune stones and use them to your advantage? It may be the only way to defeat Skorne, so gather your party and head into the great unknown on the most important journey of your life.
