I've owned this GPS unit for over a year now. I use it for hunting, camping, walking in the woods or when I go geocaching (a fun little game and an extra way to use your GPS unit). I've been able to get within 1 yard of a point I'm looking for or just track where I have been and where I need to go! ...I've been looking for a pocket GPS for some time, primarily for use with a paper OS map when walking in the hills, but also as a basic navigation device in the car. .... The way around this is to have atomic clocks in each of the satellittes but to have a normal quartz clock in the reciever which can be constantly reset. The receiver is constantly getting the correct time value from the satellitte signals. ...I have owned this GPS unit for two months and am highly pleased with it's overall performance, look, and feel. This is the base model Garmin that has mapping capabilities so at around 120 dollars it is the cheapest way to get started in whatever your new endeavor is. The casing is blue and black so while walking through the woods it does not make you stand out to the people on the trails. The black grips on the side are perfect, when out on the water fishing, to grip onto so you do not drop this unit. In the event you do slip and drop the unit it comes with a wrist strap so it does not fall far, and it is waterproof so there are no worries about ruining it in the water..in fact I frequently rinse it off in the nearby rivers. The only thing I would recommend is that you do not purchase the carrying case as it covers the internal... Read review
