I am a Real Estate Agent, so I spend a lot of time traveling locally, looking for houses, buildings and land in places I've never been before. This GPS system has been a god send for me. My husband bought the GPS StreetPilot for me as a Christmas gift, and I was thrilled. The price was extremely affordable and has been more than worth it. I was not familiar with navigational systems before owning this one. I was under the impression that a monthly fee was involved, but that is not the case here. Besides the good price, I have found the system to be very easy to learn and to operate. It is very user friendly. You can save your favorite locations, which includes home, and it also saves your "recent" locations as well. If you need to use an address for a second time, it is there at the touch of your screen. You do not have to re-enter it. You can find anything you want from wherever you are. You can find gas stations, restaurants, hotels, etc. If you redirect from your original destination to get gas, food or sleep, the GPS will pick up from where you are and continue to navigate you to your original destination. Also, if you happen to miss a turn, the GPS will recalculate and continue to direct you. There is no fear that you will mess up and get lost. The system tells you how many miles you are traveling, what time you should arrive at destination, and even how fast you are going! There is one negative, and that is that the preloaded maps are outdated in some cases. For about $70 you can upgrade your maps at www.garmin.com. I would recommend that. I have had about 5 or 6 times that I could not find my destination or was directed to the wrong place. All in all, I love my GPS StreetPilot and cannot imagine living without it. It is an excellent buy and I highly recommend it.
