Advantages: Plenty of features, easy to read Disadvantages: Battery life, locking on to satellites
This GPS is easy to read whilst on the move and simple to operate, but it has a history of problems trying to locate a strong eough signal to function. This is a problem common to all GPS systems, but some overcome it better than others.
So for all the functionality in the world, if you go running in an area with limited coverage, there's no point in buying this product, so do your research first - it may well not be the fault of the Forerunner ... ...quite bulky, certainly compared to other similar ones i"ve had before, but like changing your watch, you get used to that very quickly. It does suffer from poor battery life, which, combined with the other comments I've made, point me to say - a good product with too many down sides, so avoid it. ...

this is a "must have" for all the marathoners and triathlethes. comapring this product to many other GPS gadges i know, i can say
- the size is perfect, no more running with 2 or 3 pieces to measure distance (each 80gr(
- the GPS works even in cloudy conditions and in the middle of cities
- heart rate monitor is also perfect
- you can see your exact position
- it is light, looks good and provides you with all the information you need

Advantages: Heart beat monitor added Disadvantages: No sync
...and sharing training data is easy with free Garmin Training Center software or web based applications.
I especially like the cool look of 305. Even if you don't do intensive workout everyday, you can bring it around...shopping around for example, consult the GPS system, you never get yourself lost. ...

Advantages Excellent training aid for heartrate, pace, speed monitoring and recording Disadvantages Altimeter not 100% correct
...An excellent training aid. This item gives you heartrate, speed, time taken, lap times, for running, biking, and other sports. This can be downloaded to the included software as your training log and then uploaded to websites such as Google earth where you can view your training mapped against satellite images.
I aren't too sure of the accuracy of the altimeter part of the satellite navigation product, but that does not bother my training too much. Another good feature is that on the website mapmyrun.com you can save your run course that you created and upload it to your Garmin and then train against the training pace buddy, with the Garmin telling you if you are behind or in front of the pace that you set. Also if you wander off the course the Garmin will warn you that you have strayed away from the intended path.
Overall a must...

Advantages Lots of feedback about your training! Disadvantages Side buttons are a bit small. Strap can be uncomfortable.
...The GarminForerunner305 is a personal GPS trainer with Heart Rate Monitor. I've been using mine now for over 6 months, so I hope this review will cover all aspects of the Forerunner! I should start by saying that I really like this unit; I have used it for walks, jogging, and cycling and it has worked pretty much as I required.
In the box
The Forerunner305 is packed with features, but out of the box, this is what you get:
The forerunner itself
Docking pod
USB lead
charger
instruction manual and software
The docking pod is what lets you transfer the training information over to the computer - you take the forerunner off your wrist, drop it into the dock and (if you have installed the software) the Garmin programme starts up and starts transferring. It will also charge the unit, rather than using the charger (which...

Advantages All you could need in a watch Disadvantages none
...The Garmin Fore runner 305 has been a life saver for me..
if you are a runner and want to track your progress, train against a vitual partner or simple see how far or fast you are running.
then i would advise you get this watch. it is light weight are to be honest when you are running you do not really realise that it is there.
i use it on every run i do. even if its just a slow recovery run then i will use the heart rate monitor , pace and distance to make sure it is slow and i am not working harder than I should be.
i would say that this is well worth the money and perfect for any runner needing a new watch for sporting purposes....
