The Gadzoox Geminix family of fiber channel to SCSI routers provides the optimal blend of fault tolerance, performance and interoperability for connecting legacy storage resources to the SAN. To address the individual needs of a specific installation, the Geminix family offers a number of port configuration options including up to two fiber channel GBIC ports and up to four SCSI ports supporting a mixture of single ended, low voltage differential (LVD), and high voltage differential (HVD). For high availability systems that require redundancy or for installations with severe space constraints, the compact half-rack width and 1 U height of the Geminix products make it ideal for mounting in pairs. To enable legacy storage devices to get the most out of the gigabit bandwidth of fiber channel SANs, the Geminix router is designed to provide a high level of data throughput performance. The advanced architecture of Geminix employs twin 64-bit buses, which enable high internal routing bandwidth. This high bandwidth enables storage devices to operate at top performance levels resulting in higher I/O capacity and accelerated backup operations. For storage consolidation applications where storage devices are shared by multiple servers, Geminix offers a number of sophisticated management features to help ensure a reliable and secure environment. Network and storage management features such as LUN-level zoning, quality of service policies, HA link failover, and fault isolation are provided through the Ventana SAN Manager application. Geminix also supports an embedded data mover agent for serverless backup using the latest industry standard API. A serial and 10/100BaseT management ports provide SNMP, Telnet and terminal support.
