Review of Garmin GPSMAP 76CSx by

Advantages: power use AA batteries, Waterproof, easy use, easy Installation
Disadvantages: Screen it not big enough, Map its very limited in indonesia
I have this Garmin for about a year. I use often. From roading in my Jeep, hiking and traveling on the road. This unit, 76CSx is a Marine GPS, which means that if you fall into the water. As in almost all Garmin units, is the examination of water-IPX-7 --- not for diving with you! From my perspective, this unit has some important characteristics:
1. Power use AA batteries and is very easy for a replacement battery.
2. Mini-SD card slot, with a ... ...with both
Lack of Garmin 76CSx is:
1. The screen is not big enough for navigation.
2. Map is very limited in Indonesia, especially if we use Garmin Map Source. But overall I am satisfied with the Garmin 76CSx this, and I will use Garmin 76CSx this year to adventure using mountain bike. ...

Great little GPS unit that works just fine
Review of Garmin eTrex Legend by
greekmiss
Advantages: Great coverage with pretty close readings
Disadvantages: Large trees keep from allowing great coverage and monitor is not in color
I've owned this GPS unit for over a year now. I use it for hunting, camping, walking in the woods or when I go geocaching (a fun little game and an extra way to use your GPS unit). I've been able to get within 1 yard of a point I'm looking for or just track where I have been and where I need to go! Although there are some downsides...which I believe occur with all GPS units that I've played with so far. One is that if you are in thick woods or under ... ...recieve the best reception to the satellites in order to get closer to the spot you want to get to. Another down side is the fact that the screen is not in color. What's great though is that you can save tracks or certain spots so you can get to them another day. ...

GARMIN GPSMAP 96
I was chatting with an aviation chum the other day about the pros and cons of the various GPS units out there. Due to parkinsonism I no longer fly and learned at a time when GPS for the private pilot was a mere gleam in its inventors eye! A lot of pilots are very sceptical that newbies are relying far too much on GPS systems for navigation, rather than building on the basics (wizz-wheel, maps etc) so that they encounter difficulty ... ...right as my friend, who is a learner of this new-school, told me that without the basics the use of GPS is like cooking with a microwave without knowing about flavour, i,e,, it can be done but isn't really worthwhile.
This GPS unit (see the manufacturers spec for full description of what it can do) is, I am told, extremely easy to use with a very user-friendly interface. It has multiple way-points and comes pre-loaded with the Jeppesen database ...
