Ok GPS
Review of Garmin nuvi 350 by scorpioncbr

Advantages: Small GPS, very portable
Disadvantages: The screen is too small

This little model works quite well, but I found it to have some flaws, not so much from a technical point of view but more from a 'strategic' point of view. Let me explain, the only technical fault in this GPS is that sometimes it tells you to turn once it is already to late. "Turn Left" and you had already passed that road a few seconds before. Other times insted it tells you far ahead. I guess it depends on signal reception. Which brings me o my ...
...pick up a signal. When you turn the device on it might take a while before it actually gets the signal, but that happens with nearly all GPS's. Apart form this, the other flaws (in my point of view), are that the screen is far too small, I cannot stress how important a larger screen is, Especially when traveling among many parallel roads. The 'art work'/design is kind of irititating. ... Read review

Good design
Review of TomTom XL 330S by qyvans

Advantages: works better in theory than in practice
Disadvantages: None

TomTom XL 330S used to be a big garmin fan but now i look at what tom tom gives you on the gps and what garmin gives you, for your money tom tom gives you alot more! and also the fact that they allow you to update the maps for free. New maps/map updates are not free, tho TTHome will allow some minor corrections to your existing map. Things like street name corrections, marking roads as blocked or one way, that type of thing. No additional highways, ...
...The next cheapest is Navigon's FreshMaps service. Check The TomTom website. They do have the Latest Map guarantee for 30 days after purchase. Also they have what they call "MapShare" which allows you to make correction to map data, and to get corrections that others make to the map data. ... Read review

Review of Garmin nuvi 205 by rileyroo

Advantages: very accurate
Disadvantages: expensive

...frequently in my vehicle and Garmin nuvi was the absolute perfect traveling guide to take with me on the road. It has some great map settings and a pleasant voice that guides you every step of the way. It knows exactly where you are or if you have taken a wrong turn somewhere. The Garmin gives you a certain comfort of safety when on the road because you will always be able to know exactly where you are and how to get back home. It can be easily attached ... Read review

Handy Useful GPS for outdoor activities
Review of Garmin eTrex Vista by tommy1979

Advantages: handy, light, easy to use, great design
Disadvantages: inaccuracy in a bad wheather

GPS Garmin Etrex Vista, is one handy, light, easy to use GPS that easily to carry anywhere you go, but always bring backup 2 AA batteries with you, cause the accuracy is sometime very inaccurate (especially the compass) when the battery is low. I have used this since late 2003 untill it's broken (the LCD display is very weak and not good) and became very inaccurate in mid 2005 and after that I replace it with GPS Garmin V. But simply, it's good portable ... Read review
