While not unbearable, both the calculating route and recalculation are slower than other units. I have a friend that loves this GPS. He will not go anywhere without it. He continues to try to get me to buy one and even said he would buy another just so I could have his. He is impressed with its ability to get you anywhere and he says that he has not had one problem with it. If you take a wrong turn due to your mistake then it will get you right back on track.
