Decent GPS
Review of Magellan Maestro 3250 by bboothe83

Advantages: Price, Where Am I Feature
Disadvantages: Power Source is Low Quality

My top three favorite features are: 1. It says the street name. Lots of models will just tell you to turn in "approximately .2 miles", which can get really tricky in a residential area, especially because the gps is accurate only within around 50 feet, so estimating .2 miles can be rough. 2. "Where am I?" Ever find a hole-in-the-wall restaurant you love, or a grocery store with perfect produce? With this feature, the gps can actually pinpoint your ...
...book. Also a great feature if your car breaks down and you need someone to bring you some gas. 3. AAA locations. I love this. Especially useful for snowy days when you need to stay at a hotel in some podunk town you never would have thought to make a reservation in. As a AAA member, I'm extremely satisfied with this feature, although it's useful to nonmembers too. ... Read review

garmin 350
Review of Garmin nuvi 350 by arcusin13

Advantages: very fast and quiet
Disadvantages: a bit expensive

The Garmin Nüvi 350 is based on the SiRFstarIII GPS chip, which boasts fast satellite-acquisition times and improved GPS-signal reception in areas where the view of the sky may be partially blocked by dense foliage or tall buildings. In addition to voice-guided, turn-by-turn driving directions, the Nüvi offers all the usual features we've come to expect from today's crop of in-car navigation systems, including automatic routing, the ability to save ...
...when you veer off course, and 2D and 3D map views. It also has text-to-speech directions through which the actual street name is spoken, and you can hook up an optional FM traffic receiver to obtain real-time traffic alerts. Unfortunately, the receiver will set you back another $214 for the hardware, and there's a $60-per-year subscription fee. ... Read review

The Nuvi 260 Takes You Where You Want To Be
Review of Garmin nuvi 260 by bigwerd07

Advantages: Nice Touch screen, Clear Audio Directions, Great Features
Disadvantages: Voice Gets Annoying, Points Of Interest Feature Baron, Late Turns Occasionally

...GPS systems. I bought the Garmin nuvi 260 from Best Buy for 275 dollars. I had read good things about it, and was going to choose between this model and a TomTom model. The 260 happened to be on sale, so I selected it. This was the first GPS system I have ever purchased. I hooked it up in my Jeep Commander and typed in the address to my house to test it out. The monitor on the unit is a little over 3 inches, I think the box said 3.5 inches. The ...
...to make them. That is very annoying! Another thing I dislike is the points of interest are kind of baron. They are missing some very popular and famous places. All in all, I think the Nuvi 260 from Garmin is an excellent investment. I would recommend it to all. ... Read review

Turn left... errrr
Review of Garmin nuvi 200 by dorian151

Advantages: Good graphical quality etc
Disadvantages: no road names

After using this product for some time now I would like to write a review on it to warn potential buyers. This is similar to another review on this unit and he was very right in what he said. In general, this gadget is just not accurate enough. When I am driving, it looks cool and high techy but thats pretty much the only completely positive aspect about it! It is very difficult to follow at times because there arent road names just directions ... Read review
