Revolutionary passive microwave circuit eliminates color fading and the need for consistent tuning. The 2-way signal capture provides sharper pictures. The Optima TV Antenna is designed for UHF/VHF and FM stereo. Using GWN (Gain Without Noise) circuitry, the Optima receives up to twice the signal of conventional antennas without adding picture-degrading noise. No color fading. Television signals are transmitted horizontally, but because of the Earth's magnetic fields and ionization effects, the signals begin to rotate. This is called Faraday Rotation. Conventional antennas only receive the horizontal portion of the signal-losing part of the signal. Therefore, color appears faded. The Optima is circularly polarized, meaning it receives the entire signal independent of the direction to which the signal has rotated. Minimum adjustment design combines the features of broadband fixed tuned antennas developed for the military early warning radar receivers. This allows the Optima to receive the widest possible range of frequencies without the constant need for adjustment.
