iMAGINE if you will, sounds, sights, and smells. A place where you are surrounded by happy, excited and talented people. There is a place called Freedom Weekend Aloft. It offers you a variety of entertainment and tons of great food. Happening in South Carolina, every year, this is an event you will be glad you went too.
They have a National Weekend Frisbee contest for dogs. Anyone can enter with their dogs. There is a chance to go on to further competitions, and win prizes. It is marvelous to watch the dogs, fetch and jump so high in the air.
There is a concert series that they always have. I had the chance to see "Crossroads". That was good. The concerts are free as well as the admission into the event.
Along the pathways are various vendors, crafts, and restaurant booths.
The most wonderful part for me was the hundreds of Hot Air Balloons.
Ranging from all the colors around the world to company's logos, there is lots of them. I almost took a ride on one. It would have cost me $15.oo but I "chickened out". My grandfather on the other hand took a ride. He loved it. He is 92 years old. Let me tell you, if he can, I probably could have too. But....
There is plenty to do and it is geared for families. It offers a kids area and a shuttle service.
