Franz Ferdinand

I really like Franz Ferdinand, and I always listen to them when I need to be cheered up because their music can be so enlightening and warm when you listen to it. Advantages Excellent Album
Disadvantages Too short

...The immediate reaction people tend to get from this new album is catchy and good lyrics. It immediatly makes you want to get up and dance. They are one of the best newly discovered bands of 2004, with the great songs Take Me Out, and The Dark Of The Matinee. You could say that Take me out IS the catchiest song of 2004, with great lyrics throughout the entire album. The only problem is the length of the CD, it has very few tracks and ends too quickly. if you are a first time buyer and are thinking of buying a terrific album look no further, Franz Ferdinand will blow your mind. Advantages A very good tune style with catchy lyrics which pull the listener in.
Disadvantages Can be annoying if played regulary.

...Personally, I think that, as this is Franz Ferdinand's debut album show that they have already accomplished their goal of breaking through the United Kingdom. I particularly like their attitude towards their music as they look like they hardly try, even though they produce very addictive songs which over power their tendencies to be not as bothered as they should be. I am positive that if they bring out further albums after these hits that they will make them a lot better, if that is possible for them. Even though I didn't like them to begin with, they have changed my way of heart and the way I think of music, which I think is hard for most other bands out there at the moment.... Read review

...Wasn't Franz Ferdinand the guy who got assassinated in Sarajevo to start WWI? I suppose that's not a bad idea for a band name, as they probably shouldn't survive to make a follow-up. And they did sing "Take me out", which certainly isn't a particularly poor song, especially shining out of the murky depths of the rest of the album, but I doubt it's worth spending a tenner on. Perhaps my opinions of the Arch Duke's latter day alter-egos might start WW3, but I just don't see what the fuss was about. A Mercury Music award for this? Maybe I should take up some form of musical appreciation course, but if this is the future of Scottish "rock/punk/pop", bring back Fish, all is forgiven! AND the Bay City Rollers, even Danny Wilson....... Read review
