CHOP! CHOP!
Review of Hamilton Beach 70590 by xcrisyx

Advantages: quick, easy, and fun to use
Disadvantages: storage

Well for someone who doesn't like to cook I sure use this kitchen gadget an awful lot. I love it!!! It will slice or grate anything you put into it. It only takes just a few seconds to thinly slice a cucumber or grate a potato. It is so much fun to use my husband and I fight over who uses it, and then we fight over who has to clean it. All kidding aside, it is pretty easy to clean. It has 4 speeds and seems powerful enough. It also has suction cups ... Read review

A hand saver for arthritics
Review of Cuisinart DLC-10S by SheGrizz

Advantages: easy to use and clean
Disadvantages: sometimes pain to put back together

This is a time saver!! Plus it is especially useful for someone like me, who has arthritis in my hands. Sometimes chopping or dicing and even mixing can be painful. This unit is a great unit as it isnt huge... but the 7 cup size, makes it just right for most recipes. It isnt oversized, thus less cleanup after the fact. I found it very easy to use and not to bad to clean. I would however read the instructions the first time you take it apart to clean ... Read review

Things I Used to Chop by Hand I Now Throw in Here
Review of Hamilton Beach 72600 by thrivingmom

Advantages: Chops Onions, Peppers, Tomatoes, Etc. and is Cheap
Disadvantages: A Little Loud

...now a huge fan of Hamilton Beach products. I have their coffee maker and love it. So, when it was time for a new chopper, I decided to get this Hamilton Beach. I've been very pleased with it. It is super affordable. It is a little loud and does startle the baby. I use it mainly to chop tomatoes and onions for chili and salsa and it does a great job of dicing them into just the right size. One day when I used it on canned tomatoes it leaked really ...
...that I had not screwed it into the locking position correctly. Once I figured out how to lock it in place right, I never had another problem again. So far it's handled onions, tomatoes, peppers of all kinds, apples, cucumbers, and pickles. It makes preparing salsas, relishes, and chicken salad a breeze. ... Read review

Don't do onions!
Review of Hamilton Beach 70590 by schellsr

Advantages: works fairly well
Disadvantages: tender vegetables do not work well

Having one of these has become a challenge. When I recieved this for Christmas, I was excited. I thought to myself, "No more chopping or mixing manually, now I have help." I first used mine to chop up some onion. I used half of a medium size onion. I recieved a transparent onion that was very wet. The machine took out all the liquid in the onion. I had before me, wet, fine, and a falling apart, resemblance of an onion. I did not like the results, ...
...wrong, blade was in the wrong way. See, the blades are on a disk shaped plate. The plate sets down inside the clear bowl. There are several indentions on this plate. I believe one is for chopped, the others change the way the food is cut, there is even a sliced indention, for slicing. I have used the slicing option for my potatoes. I like thin circular slices , so I can fry them in skillet with onions, mmmm! I have had repeated success with the ... Read review
