Honestly, my opinion on this set kind of goes back and forth. It has some very nice features, and does just an excellent job of cooking anything we have tried in it. It has handled chicken, shrimp, lobster, beef, london broil. it has properly handled any type of cheese as well as all dessert things ... ...with different items is to die for). For this reason, I do not regret getting this item. It also used the gel based fuel, so its clean burning and has a mechanism that keeps the flame from getting too high and burning someone.
The other great advantage that I found for this set as opposed to some of the others I looked at was the material that the fondue pot and trays were made up of. Most of the ones I looked at were made of the standard metal ...

I received this fondue set as a gift. I wasn't too sure about it, but I've learned to love it. The pot is enameled cast iron, and the base and legs are cast iron as well. Very heavy! It also comes with everything you need for a fondue party EXCEPT for the fuel, which can be found easily at any kitchen store.
The pot can also be used separately, which I have done. It's basically a small enameled cast iron pot, you can use it on your stovetop or in ... ...I would recommend heating the pot and your fondue ingredients before using it for fondue. I've used mine as a serving dish. It is also really easy to clean. The base is also really nice to prevent ruining your tabletop.
My only complaint is that it's orange and doesn't exactly match my decor. Other than that, it's a great set! ...
