This is a good question. It actually gets asked at lots of team meetings at my bank. They do it when we first meet a new team so everyone gets to know each other. I think managers without love lives figure it is a way to psycho analyze people. The question is typically who is your favorite super hero and why? I have a couple so I will mention a couple.

Of course I like superman. The concept of fighting for truth, justice and the American way are in line with how I was raised. I really enjoyed watching Christopher Reeves portray him on film. I also enjoyed the Super Friends on Saturday mornings and then re-runs. The basic back story on superman is that he came from the planet Krypton before it was destroyed. He has super strength, can fly, and see through anything but lead. His main arch enemy is Lex Lugar. His weakness is Kryptonite, which are meteors from his planet that can kill him even though bullets can't. The Christopher Reeves Movies were my first experience with him along with the Super Friends.

Spiderman is another of my favorites. I like how smart he is. Even though he has super powers he can often used his intelligence to solve some problems. I watched the Spider-man and his amazing friends on Saturday mornings and now catch it on TV. I also like that he always mentioned the line of "with great power comes and even greater responsibility". That is very true. His main back story is that he was an aspiring student scientist who got bitten by an experimental spider and got the powers of a spider such as being able to climb walls and have great vision and super strength. He does not shoot a natural web, so he uses his chemistry expertise to develop a web shooter. My first real experience with him was a television series from the 1970's that I have not been able to find much more information on the show, but if they put it on DVD I would watch it as it was very good I thought. His main enemy is the Green Goblin, The Scorpion, Dr Doom (who also harass the fantastic four) and the Rhino and Shocker.

Batman has to be my all time favorite though. I used to not watch any shows that were not animated when I was really young. The only exception to this was Batman with Adam West. It was my favorite TV show. For awhile it was on some channel late a night when I was in college. After I got off from work I would watch it. I also really enjoyed the Super Friends version of batman. The main villain of batman is typically the joker, the riddler, cat woman, and the penguin. I can't really say I liked the movies too much. I do think batman begins is getting back on the right track though. They seem too much of a departure from the cartoon. I liked the superman movies much better. I actually for quite awhile collected lots of classic batman memorabilia. Thought about having the bat signal painted on one of my guitars. His back-story is that his parents were killed in an area named crime alley and eventually he sees some bats and the fear they invoke and decided to help man rid the city of criminals by hiding in the night to right was is wrong.

The main reason that I like Batman is because he does not have any special abilities like super strength, or x-ray vision, but he uses his mind to solve crime and foil the bad guys. It was actually a pretty educational show. I did not realize it at the time, but mom did and liked that I watched the show. I wish TV now was like it was back then. Don't know about the junk they put on now.

All of these heroes started out in comic books of some sorts, have had a couple cartoon series written about them, and a movie or two. Batman has gone through the most drastic changes it appears, while superman has gone through the least. They also have various toys that have been made to celebrate them and get kids interest and parents money. My opinion the best toys of them were the Mego toys. In the 1970's they had small action figures about 3-5in tall as well as dolls that you could outfit similar to a girls Barbie doll. They were about the size of a ken doll.
