Advantages new Disadvantages reception not always good
...As i work for a big mobile company i will give you an accurate low down...i like the R250s PRO because it is the first water, dust and shock resistant mobile phone produced by Ericsson. It operates on GSM 900 and GSM 1800 frequencies and supports both GSM phase 2+ technology and the GSM Pro system. As a result it offers you the opportunity to combine all the advantages of a GSM mobile phone with Private Mobile Radio (PMR) functionality. It is finished in eye-catching Bright Orange or a sober Iron Green, R250s PRO is the perfect working tool for outdoor communications in tough environments.
Be carful though, they say the signals are not always recieved......

Advantages tough Disadvantages not for a regular user
...Railtrack orange, bulky design and tough as a brick. This phone is mainly designed for those in the building industry who need to communicate in conditions that aren't really suitable for a cheap, 'drop once - break forever' phone. It is shock, dust and water resistant and given that you can guess why it isn't so aesthetically pleasing. Other good points to this phone is that it has a speaker phone function which is quite loud so you can make a phone call from one end of the room from the other - especially if you are well paranoid about radiation.

Advantages Waterproof, dustproof and easy to use Disadvantages Not a budget purchase
...The R250s Pro is the ideal phone for farmers, builders etc. It is weatherproof, dustproof and is reinforced to withstand plenty of knocks. Two aerials are supplied; a stubby rubberised helical affair which adds 44mm to the phone’s length, and a high-gain 165mm rubberised whip antenna. The phone is protected by rubber strips that are found all over the exterior. You can call a group of up to 16 users simultaneously. The speaker is very loud. Fortunately, you can adjust the volume of this from that of the normal earpiece. Voice quality is very good. The speaker and mic are of a higher quality than those built into many phones. The RC250 is a unique phone. Not cheap, but for those who need a more robust, industrial phone the expense is well justified....
