Epson Perfection 610

...I have used the Epson Perfection 610 scanner for the past 4 months. It is a very versatile machine with very high resolution capability for its price. I have used it to copy colour photographs and print them off using a Hewlett Packard HP 840 C colour printer, on HP gloss photographic quality paper,and the end result is almost indistinguishable from the original photograph! It is very easy to use, and I am extremely pleased with it. I am glad I did not have the bog-standard scanners that are provided with most of the dept store "packages" these days!... Read review

...I had posted an opinion earlier this month on the Multifunction printer, scanner, copier and fax, that I had purchased, which was the Canon Multipass C530. Prior to this I was using the Epson Perfection 610. I purchased this Flatbed Scanner early last year at a price of around PDS.100.00 (One hundred pounds) The scanner was very easy to hook up. Just plug in the USB, plug in the power, install the software and your done. I think it took me only 15 minutes from the time I took it out of the box. It comes with Adobe Photoshop 5 software, which is very useful and probably the best around, at that time, for this scanner. Maximum resolution you can obtain is 9600 x 9600 dpi but I doubt you would ever need this. If you do use the higher dpi then be prepared with enough free hard disk space, zip drive or CD memory. ...With a scanner like this, what else would you want more? Excellent quality, simple operation and outright speed make this a clear winner. My previous scanner gave up the ghost quite a while ago so I was looking at a new high quality scanner to use hat home. I was looking at the cheaper 30 pound models and decided to try them and they were terrible quality and very slow. I then decided to pay a bit more and got thins wonderful Epson Perfection610. Plugged it in and flicked through the well laid out instruction manual. Loaded the correct drivers and the scanner worked for the first time. I was very impressed by the quality of the scans and also the speed.
