Manufacturer's product description
The Epson AcuLaser C1100 is the affordable color and monochrome laser printer that delivers high-speed, photo quality prints for small businesses and workgroups that require a compact and easy-to-use solution. The AcuLaser C1100 features the latest in Epson's toner technologies - AcuBrite - and a new Wrap Transfer system to produce outstanding results first time, every time. The AcuLaser C1100 enables users to utilize the benefits of business quality photo printing at laser printer speed. Whether used for company newsletters featuring color photographs, dynamic and eye-catching instore displays or adding a professional touch to financial reports and general business documents, the Epson AcuLaser C1100 combines creative freedom with professional quality. Underpinning the AcuLaser C1100 is Epson's Wrap Transfer engine. Designed to maximize print speed and improve the accuracy of toner coverage and placement, resulting in high quality prints. The AcuLaser C1100 features the very latest of Epson's leading toner technologies - AcuBrite toner. This advanced toner represents significant advantages over conventional toners in the key areas of print quality, color and cost efficiency. Smaller, more uniform particles of AcuBrite toner and a more even distribution of these particles mean the AcuLaser C1100 achieves superior image resolution. In contrast to conventional toners, which have a wax core, AcuBrite features a new type of pigment, which is distributed evenly within each particle. In addition, a special resin is used to deliver a high level of gloss, ideal for professional documents and business photos. With an even distribution of pigment and wax, additional micro-particles - designed to eliminate light scattering - ensure an increased color gamut and improved color. With smaller, more uniform particles and better electrostatic properties, AcuBrite toner results in greater toner use efficiency, which delivers cost-savings and reduces environmental impact. This printer is intended for European countries excluding UK and Switzerland.

Advantages Well known Manufacturer Disadvantages A bit big for home use in a small room
...I purchased th C1100 on offer in Staples and found that the printer to be a bit heavy .The setup procedure was a bit time consuming :- getting all the packing out and then fitting all the toner cartridges and fuser unit.that aside the print quality is very good .I was not too impessed with the manual that installs itself on to the desktop.I had a bit of confusion about which paper i could use the mabual seemed a bit vague on htis so i emailed the support team and the answer came back quickly and well explained. The initial print time is about 10 seconds but following pages are about 2-3 seconds. All in all its a good printer well worth the money....

Advantages Value for money Disadvantages noisy
...Purchased this printer for our new business. We use MS Office suite notably Publisher. Conflict between the prionter driver and publisher prevents pub. docs. opening as they should. After long talks over 3 weeks with Dell (purchased the PC and MS Office from them) and Epson nothing was resolved. Have to say Dell were excellent but Epson support was rubbish. Now have widely available software which won't work as it should. Would have thought printer driver would be compatable with application available in most offices. Downloaded latest driver but no change, besides the obvious i.e buy another printer, any suggestions anybody?
PS this is our second printer the first one was faulty on installation........not impressed so far Epson. Anybody want to buy cheap?!!...

Advantages Price, Ease Of Use, Easy Setup Disadvantages Possibly The Size, Can struggle with Labels if Not Careful
...Having purchased a number of the C1100's predecessor, the AcuLaserC900, purchasing one of these was seen as a natural step, and is a step that has not proved dissapointing.
The printer comes well packaged, and protected, it what is possibly a slightly oversized box!
Following the instructions through the initial setup is easy, and your also guided by the LCD display. Once you have installed the various consumables, and hooked it up to you PC via either a Parallel or USB connection, installing the drivers (on Win XP) was also straight forward.
When printing it can take a short while to get going, but isn't anything other than you'd expect of a laser printer, and is also reasonably quiet.
The print quality is good, and for general colour printing in an office envrionment, it proves excellent value for money.
The one thing to beware...
