Manufacturer's product description
The Electrograph DTS42DD is a revolutionary plasma monitor with an array of compelling features. It utilizes the latest plasma display panel technology with a sophisticated built-in scaler, giving the panel the ability to display high-resolution computer images of up to UXGA (1600 x 1200). In addition to the UXGA scaling ability, the DTS42DD also incorporates an assortment of user-friendly features including 90-degree portrait mode, electronic zoom with adjustable magnification, picture-in-picture, picture freeze, built-in sound system, programmable on-screen display, 530: 1 ratio contrast and a peak brightness rating of 400cd/m2. In addition, the DTS42 comes in a completely metal chassis, making it ideal for public display applications. The featured Electrograph Direct Digital overcomes the limitations of driving a display with analog signals by using digital processing only. Each pixel in the plasma screen is addressed individually according to the red, green and blue values unique to that tiny portion of the overall picture. There is no analog to digital conversion in the entire process. The direct digital input accepts a SD-1 signal in ITUBT-R 656/601 format. The Electrograph Direct Digital then utilizes full broadcast quality processing and three-dimensional interpolation and filtering to perform deinterlacing, resizing and scale processing in real time, producing a signal exactly matching the inherent characteristics of the plasma screen. The final result is a stunning picture with the highest level of clarity and brightness and none of the artifacts usually associated with analog displays.
