This carving knife, the Hamilton Beach 74250, has provided me with excellent results for 2 years running now. ...two years ago. I like Black & Decker products. I believe you get what you pay for and this knife is well worth the price. I can honestly say that I use this electric knife only a few times a year. For one thing, it's in a cabinet that I don't think about. I will say that it's PERFECT for carving turkeys. Nobody ever wants that job. ...I'll be pulling the old Black & Decker knife out again. I have also used it to slice ham for sandwiches. This does a great job of slicing uniform thickness of the slices. The blade pops right off which makes it easy to clean. It has a safety lock so that the knife will not operate unless the blade is in place. This is a nice product to have to sharpen your knives and it does a really good job. It sharpens knives like they were just bought. It is not to loud at all and really does not take long to sharpe. It is very easy to maintain and to clean. I have not had any kind of problem out of it since I bought it. The design is ordinary but nice. The safety is pretty good on it as well so no one gets cut.
